Fox Theatres, based in Reading, Pennsylvania and founded in 1957, continues to be family-owned. Today Fox Theatres operates four theaters with twenty-four screens: Fox Berkshire 8 and Fox East 4 in greater Reading, Pennsylvania; Sun & Surf Cinemas 8 and Gold Coast 4 in Ocean City, Maryland.
Over the past 3 years, Fox Theatres enhanced their existing Fox Berkshire location in Wyomissing, PA, to meet the growing needs of their business. In 2017, a full kitchen and a cocktail bar was added to give moviegoers a place to enjoy a cocktail, dine, and relax throughout their movie experience.
“One of the most eye catching enhancements that was made during the remodel was the cocktail bar,” explained Donald Fox. He also added that. “It was designed and built as a focal point of the theater’s lobby”. Given the bar’s open design and close proximity to the patrons, Fox chose to secure the alcohol behind the bar. The theater’s main concern was to ensure that by securing the alcohol, they did not compromise the look of the bar or the visibility of the available products.
“The SteelWeave Metal Mesh Grille was the perfect solution to meet all of our needs,” says Mr. Fox. Due to its sleek design, it fit seamlessly into the opening. Mr. Fox added that,”It complemented the design of the bar and lobby while adding some elegance.” The theater then made it into a rolling piece of art by adding spotlights to enhance the visibility of the both the grille and the alcohol that was displayed behind the grille. The function and beauty of the grille led Fox to select the same material for a custom sliding panel made to separate the bar area from the ticket counter.
