On a typical day, you’ll find Michael Bogdon stopping by each bay to chat casually with shop associates.
“My days are typically fast-paced. They’re filled with meetings, calls, plant walkthroughs, and other tasks that keep operations on point,” Michael explained. “The tricky part is striking a balance to ensure I'm giving our stakeholders equal levels of support."
As the plant manager of the Cornell and Cookson manufacturing facility in Mountain Top, Michael is in charge of the day-to-day. Overseeing everything from production to manufacturing, he looks for ways to streamline processes and increase production, while maintaining the safety of employees and product quality.
“I take pride in our people. I want to cultivate a positive work environment that's both safe and productive," he said. "It’s not just about meeting our goals; it's about empowering our employees to thrive, grow, and take ownership of their roles. Together, we create a workplace where everyone can be their best, and that, in turn, drives our company’s success."
Michael is inspired by the accomplishments of others and assesses himself based on the success of his team. And, he relies heavily on collaboration to help his team reach their goals.
“Collaboration is at the heart of all I do. We have various supporting departments, none of which report through me,” Michael added. “This requires me to collaborate with each and every department in the organization to ensure my team is getting the support that they need.”
Apart from his daily duties, Michael goes above and beyond work to support his employees and the community in altruistic ways. He started the Thanksgiving Meal Box initiative and is the team sponsor for the Angel Tree program, which provides Christmas gifts to local children. Michael believes in giving back to the community, and he is always looking for ways to support his employees in making a difference.
"As a leader, there's no line that separates our work from our responsibility to do good,” Michael emphasized. “It's not just a choice; it's a duty to make a positive impact, to uplift those around us, and to leave a lasting legacy of compassion and leadership."
